Guide
The pre-submission checklist
Mechanical, boring and it saves entries every single year. Run all of it before you press submit, and run it a week early rather than on the closing day.
Eligibility
- The project falls inside the eligibility window, checked against the dates in the rules rather than your memory
- Your firm is eligible in this category, including any membership requirement
- The project has not been entered in this category in a previous year, where that is prohibited
- Any client or partner permission you need has been obtained in writing
The answers
- Every question has an answer, including the ones that looked optional
- Every answer is inside its word or character limit, checked in the entry portal rather than in Word
- No answer contains a claim you could not evidence if a judge asked
- Attribution is correct wherever a partner, alliance or client was involved
- Figures in the text match the figures in the attachments
Attachments
- File formats and sizes match what the portal accepts
- Images are the resolution the rules require and you hold the rights to use them
- Any letter of support is signed and dated
- Names of individuals appear only where you have their agreement
Submission
- Entry fee paid and the receipt saved
- Confirmation email received and stored with the entry
- A complete copy of everything submitted archived where you can find it next year
- The closing time checked for its timezone, which is not always yours
The one people skip
Archive the complete submission package, including attachments and the confirmation. Next year the fastest way to a strong entry is last year’s entry, and in most firms nobody can find it.
Start with two answers.
Send an award you are actually entering and whatever project material you already have. You get two complete answers, the case we would make, the questions we would send your team and the claims that one more fact would unlock.
